A long-acting acylated amylin analog designed for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. Studies have investigated its effects on amylin receptor-mediated satiety signaling pathways and metabolic parameters.
Cagrilintide is a novel, long-acting analog of amylin, a pancreatic hormone co-secreted with insulin. It activates amylin receptors (AMY1 and AMY3) in the area postrema and other brainstem regions involved in satiety signaling. This activation modulates gastric emptying kinetics, reduces glucagon secretion, and engages central satiety signaling pathways. Its acylation with a C18 fatty diacid enables albumin binding, extending its half-life to support once-weekly dosing. Studies have examined dose-dependent effects on metabolic signaling pathways through amylin receptor activation.

Key finding: Research investigated cagrilintide-mediated amylin receptor activation and its dose-dependent effects on metabolic signaling pathways, with a dose-response relationship observed across all study groups.

Key finding: Research examined the pharmacodynamic interaction of combined amylin and GLP-1 receptor activation, suggesting complementary mechanisms of action on metabolic signaling pathways.
